Version 1.1 · Updated 15 September 2026
The key points
Calga helps caravan and lodge owners identify guests and view feedback about completed stays. Your real name identifies your guest profile. Authorised owners can search for guests and see their membership date, current verification status and individual stay reviews with their original dates. Guest addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and identity documents are not displayed in owner search.
Please read the full terms below before creating an account or subscribing. These terms do not take away your consumer or data protection rights.
1. About Calga and these terms
Calga is a sole trader business based in Manchester. Contact: admin@calga.co.uk. In these terms, “Calga”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Calga service; “you” means the person using the service.
These terms cover accounts, guest identification, verification, owner reviews, caravan profiles and subscriptions on calga.co.uk. They describe the service and the responsibilities you accept when agreeing to use it. Publishing these terms does not by itself record your agreement or your consent to personal-data processing.
Calga is not a holiday booking agent, accommodation provider, insurer or guarantor. Bookings, deposits, rental payments, park rules, cancellations of holidays and accommodation disputes are arranged directly with the owner or the booking service you choose. Your Calga subscription pays for platform access, not a caravan stay.
2. Accounts and accurate information
You must be at least 18 to hold an account and have authority to provide the information you submit. Create your own account, use accurate and current details, and keep your password secure. Do not impersonate another person, create misleading profiles or share an owner login to give unauthorised people access to guest information.
Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been misused. Owners acting for a business must have permission to represent that business and the accommodation they describe. An owner account does not establish ownership of a caravan or independently verify the owner.
3. Your real name and guest identification
Your guest profile must use your real first and last names. If you complete an identity check, use the names shown on the identity document you submit. You can correct your profile details; changing your name or address resets your verification status until your updated details are checked.
Guest acknowledgement: “I agree for my real first and last names to be used to identify my guest profile on Calga. I understand that authorised caravan and lodge owners can search for my profile and view my name, membership date, current verification status and the individual stay reviews recorded against my profile, including the date each review was originally left.”
Owner search is available to authorised owners generally, not only owners whose caravans you have stayed in or whose invitation links you have used. Creating a searchable guest profile and linking it to a particular owner are different features. An owner can also record a completed stay against the correct guest found through search.
Names are not unique. Owners must take reasonable steps to match a result to the correct guest and must not assume that people with the same name are the same person. Do not use a false name to hide a review or avoid an identity check.
This acknowledgement explains an essential feature of the service. It is not blanket permission for advertising, public disclosure of your private contact details, or unrelated uses of your information. Agreement to a contract does not replace the need for a valid lawful basis for each use of personal data, or remove your data protection rights.
4. Who can see your information
| Information | Visibility on Calga |
|---|---|
| Guest real first and last names | The guest, site administrators and authorised owners using guest search. A linked owner can also see the guest’s name in their guest list. |
| Membership date and verification status | Authorised owners can see these in guest search. Linked owners can see current verification status. The guest can see their own account information. |
| Stay reviews, selected labels and original review dates | Authorised owners can see individual eligible reviews in search results, suggestions and the selected-guest view. Administrators can access records to operate the service and handle requests. Reviews are not displayed to the general public or other guests. |
| Guest address, email and telephone number | Private account information, available to the guest and administrators as needed to manage the service. These details are not displayed to caravan owners through guest search, guest lists or public caravan pages. |
| Identity documents and selfie | Processed through Stripe Identity. Calga uses verification results and relevant identity information to check the match, without storing document images in the guest profile. These documents are not shown to other owners or guests. |
| Owner’s private home address and account contact details | Private to the owner and administrators. They are not used automatically as public caravan contact details. |
| Caravan title, photo, location, features and pets information | Public on the owner’s shareable caravan page. Selected properties also appear in the Caravans and Lodges showcase. Public pages and images may be indexed or copied by others. |
| Separate public owner contact name and number | Shown when a visitor opens the contact details for a featured showcase property. Owners choose whether to supply these public fields. |
Your guest account does not currently include a screen for reading all reviews about you. You can contact us to request access to your personal information or raise a review concern. This interface limitation does not remove your legal rights. Service providers may process information to deliver hosting, payments, verification or account communications; the table describes visibility to other platform users.
5. Owner reviews and completed stays
An owner may leave or edit a review only for a guest whose stay at that owner’s caravan has been marked as completed and whose profile is currently verified. Owners are responsible for confirming that the stay actually happened, selecting the correct guest and giving an honest account of their own experience. Calga’s completed-stay status records the owner’s confirmation; it is not independent proof of a booking.
Reviews use the following predefined labels:
- Cleanliness
- Departed on time
- Communications
- Polite
- Followed caravan guidelines
- Considerate of neighbours
- Followed site rules
- Respected fixtures and fittings
Green ticks show the labels selected in that particular review. An unselected label means only that the reviewer did not select it; it is not automatically a negative finding or evidence that the guest behaved badly. There is no free-text review field or overall star rating in the current review system.
The system stores one editable review for each owner–guest pair. Reviews from different owners appear separately, newest first, with each review’s original creation date. The displayed date is when the review was first left, not necessarily the date of the stay. Editing labels does not change that original date or create a separate historical version. Multiple visits to the same owner are not currently separate review records.
Other authorised owners can see the individual reviews in guest search, including reviews left by owners with whom they have no connection. Reviews are not published on the public Caravans and Lodges page, public caravan pages, or another guest’s account. Review labels are not automatically emailed to the reviewed guest.
A historical review can remain visible if the guest’s verification later expires; the current verification badge is shown separately. Undoing a completed-stay status hides the associated review from search while retaining the record. Removing an owner or guest account removes its associated review records from the active review system. Backups and records subject to legal retention may be handled separately.
Do not submit fabricated, retaliatory, discriminatory or misleading reviews, review someone you have not hosted, manipulate labels in exchange for payment or favours, or threaten a review to obtain money. Owners must use reviews fairly and in context, rather than treating them as a guarantee or a definitive judgement of a person.
6. Incorrect reviews, mistaken identity and complaints
Contact admin@calga.co.uk if a review is linked to the wrong person, a stay did not happen, information is inaccurate, or you believe the service has been misused. Give your account email, the review date if known, a description of the problem and any relevant evidence. Do not email identity-document images unless we have agreed an appropriate secure method.
We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity and investigate with the people involved. We can correct, restrict or remove information where appropriate or required by law. Reporting a review does not automatically delete it; we consider the evidence and the rights of everyone involved. An honest difference of opinion is not necessarily a factual inaccuracy.
Guests may request access to personal information about them even though reviews are not shown in the guest dashboard. Applicable access, correction, objection, restriction and erasure rights remain available. Information relating to another person may need to be withheld or redacted where the law requires it.
7. Identity verification
Stripe Identity handles the document and selfie check. Calga uses the result and name match to determine the guest’s verification status. A successful payment, a completed profile, an owner’s stay confirmation or returning from Stripe does not itself verify identity.
The Verified badge is an identity-check status, not a background or criminal-record check, reference, guarantee of good conduct, creditworthiness or safety, or proof of address. It does not guarantee that a future booking will go well. Owners must make their own fair and lawful booking decisions.
For guests who require a subscription, an active paid subscription and a successful current identity check are both needed for Verified status. Changing relevant profile details, an expired subscription or an invalidated check can change the badge. Existing exempt accounts are treated according to their account status. Stripe’s own privacy information and any terms presented during its process also apply: Stripe privacy information.
8. Owner profiles, public photos and the showcase
Owners must provide accurate caravan or lodge descriptions and have permission to use their photos, location and published contact details. Do not upload images of identity documents, private paperwork or people without the necessary permission. A photo is required to complete a caravan profile and create its shareable page; image links can be publicly accessible.
The Caravans and Lodges page is a selected showcase of existing properties. Registering or completing a new profile does not automatically add a caravan to that showcase. New owners can still have their own shareable caravan page when eligible. Showcase membership does not constitute a recommendation, inspection or guarantee by Calga.
Owners choose separate public contact details. Calga does not automatically publish their private account address, email or telephone number. Clearing the public contact fields removes those details from the showcase’s contact display, although we cannot control copies already taken by third parties.
Owners remain responsible for their accommodation, permissions, legal obligations, accurate advertising, bookings and dealings with guests. Calga does not set or collect accommodation charges.
9. Subscriptions and payments
- Owner accounts: free. Owners must sign up and complete an owner and caravan profile. No subscription payment is required to activate or use an owner account, guest search or an eligible public caravan page.
- New guest accounts: £5 per year. A guest can create an account and profile before subscribing. Where required, the subscription must be active before identity verification and for Verified status.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each year until cancelled. Check the price, billing period and any applicable charges shown before confirming payment in Stripe.
- Existing exemptions: some existing guest accounts do not require a subscription. Their account status determines the exemption; the exemption does not automatically transfer to a new account.
Stripe processes subscription payments and card information. Calga stores the account and payment-status information needed to manage access rather than card details. Paying does not guarantee successful identity verification, positive reviews, bookings or inclusion in the showcase.
Use Manage subscription in your profile to update payment details or cancel renewal through Stripe. Cancelling renewal normally keeps access until the end of the paid period. If a required subscription is no longer paid and active, a guest’s badge shows Not verified. Cancelling a subscription does not itself delete the saved account profile.
10. Cancellation, refunds and account closure
If you subscribe as a consumer, statutory cancellation rights normally include a 14-day period beginning the day after the subscription contract is made. You do not have to give a reason. Any additional cancellation rights that apply by law remain available. Contact admin@calga.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel; cancelling renewal in Stripe alone may not tell us that you are requesting a statutory cancellation or refund.
Using the service does not automatically waive statutory cancellation rights. Any deduction for service supplied during a cancellation period must be legally permitted and depend on the necessary advance information and express request to start early. Where a statutory refund is due, it will be made within the applicable legal deadline, normally within 14 days of your cancellation notice, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Outside a statutory cancellation period, cancelling renewal ordinarily ends future billing rather than automatically refunding the current year. You can still request a refund for an incorrect charge, a service problem or another legal entitlement. Nothing here removes your rights if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill or as described. Business subscribers retain any rights that apply to their contract.
To close an account or request deletion, contact us. Closing an account and cancelling a paid subscription are separate actions: tell us if both are required so future billing can be addressed. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes, subject to applicable data protection requirements.

11. Personal information and essential cookies
Calga uses account and profile information to provide the service, manage subscriptions and verification, display eligible reviews, maintain security and respond to requests. Site administrators can access records as needed for these purposes. Administrative registration and review notifications may be sent to the service operator; this is not public publication of a guest review.
Read the Privacy & cookies information linked at the bottom of the site alongside these terms. Contractual agreement is separate from any consent needed for optional processing. These terms do not provide consent to marketing, optional tracking, unrelated data sharing or biometric processing on behalf of another provider.
Essential sign-in and security cookies support the service. Browser session storage remembers dismissal of the privacy notice. Closing that notice does not give consent to optional cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account features from working.
Contact us about access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection requests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Rights may depend on the relevant lawful basis and legal requirements. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
12. Responsible use and account restrictions
Owners may use guest search and reviews only for legitimate accommodation-related purposes. Do not browse out of curiosity, scrape or compile guest databases, publish screenshots of private search results, sell guest information, use it for unsolicited marketing, or share it with people who are not authorised to access it. Any disclosure required by law must be limited to what is necessary.
Do not harass or discriminate against users, attempt unauthorised access, upload malicious material, evade access controls or disrupt the service. Review information must not be used to make unlawful discriminatory decisions.
We may take proportionate steps to protect users and the service, including investigating reports, restricting access or removing unlawful or misleading content. Where reasonable, we will explain the concern and allow you to respond; urgent security or legal issues may require immediate action. You can challenge a restriction by contacting us. Refund and consumer rights are not automatically lost because an account is restricted.
13. Rights in content
You retain your rights in content you provide. You give Calga the permission needed to store, format and display that content for the features described in these terms, including public caravan pages and owner-only reviews. This permission is limited to operating the service and any lawful retention; it does not give us ownership of your photos or permission to use private guest information for unrelated advertising.
Do not submit material that infringes another person’s rights. Calga’s branding, design and software remain the property of their respective owners. You may save or print these terms for your records.
14. Availability, responsibility and legal rights
We aim to provide Calga with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance, security work or problems with hosting, payment or verification providers may interrupt features. We will take reasonable steps to address service problems. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that user-supplied descriptions and reviews have been independently checked.
Owners and guests remain responsible for their own booking decisions and accommodation arrangements. A verification badge, review label or showcase listing is information to consider, not a guarantee. This does not exclude Calga’s responsibility for its own breach of contract, negligence or other liability imposed by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. No term removes your right to a lawful remedy for a failure in the service.
15. Changes, questions and disputes
Calga is continually improved for its community. We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. Updated versions will show their date. Material changes affecting a paid service will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible, and any notice, agreement, cancellation or refund rights required by law will be respected. New terms do not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.
For service questions, complaints, review concerns, cancellation or personal-information requests, email admin@calga.co.uk. Explain the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will consider complaints fairly and try to resolve them with you.
These terms do not prevent you using a court or any other dispute route available to you by law, and do not remove mandatory protections that apply where you live.
